Florentine Roberto Cavalli's passion for fashion was awakened when his sense of beauty led him to the local Academy of Arts to specialize his skills in textile printing. Already in his student years, he worked on a series of knitted colorful prints. They immediately attracted the attention of large Italian knitwear factories.

In the early 1970s, the designer invented and patented a revolutionary technology for printing on leather and began to create patchwork materials.

In the French capital, Roberto Cavalli made his debut in the world of fashion, showing new techniques he works with. It provided him with commissions from Hermès and Pierre Cardin.

On his 30th anniversary, the designer took a giant step towards triumph by presenting his eponymous collection at the Pret-a-Porter event in Paris. This was followed by the conquest of the Sala Bianca catwalk in Palazzo Pitti in Florence and the opening of a boutique in Saint-Tropez—the first of many.

Cavalli continues to surprise the fashion world with innovation and revolutionary techniques, and in 1994, in Milan, the designer presented a collection of jeans made in a revolutionary way with sandblasting.

As his business expanded, Roberto Cavalli created the men's fashion line RC Menswear. Four years later, Just Cavalli appeared - a youth line for clothes, accessories and perfumes. Thus, Cavali once again cements its place among the big names of the fashion industry.
