PHILIPP PLEIN | Page 14

When Munich-born Philipp Plein gave up law to be a designer, he didn't know the fashion world would want him. Instead, in 1998 founded the eponymous furniture company. Supported by relatives and friends, his business soon developed. In 2003, he designed the Moet&Chandon château in dusseldorf. At that time, he took his first steps in the fashion industry, creating a series of bags and accessories made from the rest of the furniture materials.

For Moet&Chandon, Plein bought military jackets, which he decorated with the crystal skull that has become emblematic of the brand, to dress up the rails on which he hung his clothes. The models became a real sensation and not long after in 2004, the design showed its first collections for women, men and children on the catwalks.

In 2007 he received the National Brand of the Year and New Face Award fashion awards. His career reached a new peak when Heidi Klum asked him to dress the contestants on Germany's Next Top Model.

The Philipp Plein brand is synonymous with extravagance, forward-thinking and boldness – qualities that make its creator a visionary in the world of fashion.
