Los Angeles, 1981. Fascinated by the glamor of Hollywood, the Marciano brothers fell in love with the USA and decided to make it their home. There, determined to create a brand that combined the American dream with the French chic of their homeland, they founded Guess, one of the most famous brands today. Its name came about by chance, almost as a joke, inspired by a billboard with the inscription, "Guess what's in the new Big Mac?", which the brothers passed every day on their way to the office.

In the beginning, the brand focused on jeans, bringing a pinch of European style to American models. Marciano's efforts led to the creation of the revolutionary Merilyn Jean three-zip skinny jeans. The brothers sent one pair each with a handwritten note to select department stores.

Bloomingdales liked the pattern and orders 24 pairs. The jeans became a sensation and sold out in hours. Initially, the iconic Guess logo was worn by the unknown model Esther Lefebvre, and then by Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Paris Hilton, and Carla Bruni.

This is how Guess was born - a brand that has not been limited to creating jeans for a long time.
