La vida es chula. The slogan of the Spanish brand Desigual "Life is beautiful" continues to symbolize the company’s pursuit of innovation, creativity and variety to make people's daily life more lively and colorful.

Let's go back to 1984 when a Swiss named Thomas Maier in a neighborhood of Barcelona created a jacket that started the brand Desigual. It is considered one of the first products in the fashion industry made from recycled materials. Upon seeing the jacket, film director Isabelle Coixet whispered the magic words desigual ("unequal") and No es lo mismo ("Not the same"), giving the brand its name and motto.
